Chuck The Iceman Liddell
The Iceman, Chuck Liddlell has announced his plans to take a year off, in order to “give his bran a rest”
Following UFC president Dana White’s announcement that “you will never see Chuck in the mat again” it appears that Liddell intends to take some time out before making any definite decision on his retirement. The Iceman is coming off a technical knockout loss to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 97 which marked the fourth loss in his last five fights.
UFC president and close friend of Liddell’s, Dana White has repeatedly and publicly appealed to The Iceman to hang up his gloves. However Liddell has been quoted regarding his retirement
“I haven’t personally made a decision one way or the other. Hopefully my brain can heal over time. The shot last fight is something that normally wouldn’t hurt me. I think I need at least some time off from getting hit. I’m going to take time off sparring then. I’ll train still. Still gonna roll. I’ll probably do a little more jiu-jitsu than normal because I like it. It’s fun.”
Liddell will be 40 yr old by the time he makes a decision to fight again and if “brain rest” is the reason to take time out that he really should be thinking about Dana’s suggestion.
